Collagen is the main structural protein in the extracellular matrix in the various connective tissues in the body and composes about 30% of the whole-body protein content. Collagen consists of amino acids bound together to form a triple helix of elongated fibril known as a collagen helix. It is mostly found in connective tissue such as cartilage, bones, tendons, ligaments, and skin.

Reabsorbable gelatine collagen

Gelatine collagen (soluble in water) is mainly used as haemostatic. The product is obtaind from a gelatine solution transformed in foam and lately dehydrated. The result is a haemostatic sponge which gets completely reabsorbed during the healing of the tamponated area.
